another monday…
Honestly, I can’t believe we’re already back to Monday. I’ll be honest, my riding this past week didn’t quite go as planned. It was a crazy busy week at the day job and there’s some pretty major projects coming up, so a decent portion of my focus this past week was there. That being said, the one day I did get out on the bike was pretty special…
SATURDAY JULY 30TH (SADDERDAY)
We launched the first in a regular group ride series out of à bloc in Highland Park, Los Angeles! It’s always pretty intimidating trying to start-up a group ride — you never know how the turnout is going to be, the dynamic of the group (especially if it’s on the smaller side), or even how you’re going to feel when you wake up in the morning to head out the door.
Working with Hub Cyclery and à bloc is pretty amazing — working to both promote the ride and Hub rolling with an alternative route means there’s a ton of potential for us to build something special. So while A group took to the dirt for some serious elevation gain, we decided to take a spin through Elysian Park on our way out to Griffith Park.
I gotta say, it’s pretty awesome being able to show a group of riders some routes and climbs they’ve never tackled before. Up through Elysian with a quick stop at Angel‘s Point…
We descended to the LA River Bike Path and took it all the way to Travel Town to tackle Trash Truck. At the point, rather than head further up the group decided we’d make our way back to the cafe and bring the ride to a close.
So yeah, only one ride this week, but it’s enough to get me stoked for the days I hope in the saddle this week, of course, running right on up to the next Sadderday ride on August 6th! You can find all the details over on our group rides tab, or pop on over to the Strava event here.
Until next time, stay crydrated friends.
